Farewell to our 1-11's
As you will all be aware by now 2 of our venerable BAC1-11's have been repainted and been delivered to our Caribbean airline for service in sunnier climes! All of us will have memories of taking the entrance exam which has led us to other routes and aircraft but for me it remains as a most pleasurable aircraft to fly. Editorial - Another good month for UK Direct
Our v.a. has definitely come alive this month with pilots showing an unusual amount of interest ! Sorry I know that sounds harsh but when you've sat at my news desk for a couple of years you can detect the general mood !
Mark the boss is busy complaining about us all and in most cases is quite justified, tying our shoe laces for us and sending us off into the blue yonder with the hope that when we return we'll fill our PIREPS in properly. ! Dave Finney has been very busy doing just what he does best - everything! (laying everything on a plate for even the most mentally challenged and supporting everybody in every department.) James is surely beginning to see rewards for his efforts in resurrecting the online interest - a seemingly impossible task and still finding time to splash a bit of FS2k paint about. Mark (Scenery) is busy packing his bags for a nice boat trip to the Windies courtesy of Her Majesty the Queen. If you read the message board then you will get the impression that overall we are having a great time in the virtual skies, and surely THAT'S WHAT WE ARE ALL ABOUT !
Gary's London Airports scenery receiving great reviews.

Most of us that are regular Flightsim.com visitors will have read Andrew Heards' write up of Gary's London Airports. His report was very complimentary and included some nice screenshots. As Gary is promising to give support to FS2002 compatibility there can be no reason not to get and register your copy now! I mean its just so detailed - just take a peak inside the baggage reclaim area at Stansted and you can see me still waiting for my bloody luggage ! and then zoom over to the long-stay Pink Elephant (that's what it's called!) car park and see my car being towed away....
By the way, do any of you clever .air file ed people know why our 737-200 doesn't sit flat on the ground ?

Hey...Isn't that Tony Blair being just a member of the public?
What goes up must come down....

A number of our pilots have been experiencing being glider pilots lately. Apparently there are some differences between fuel consumption rates between FS2k and FS98 aircraft models. Our Fleet manager has been looking closely at this and revised fuel loading will be advised. (Since using FS Meteo, which can give very strong upper winds I always carry that little extra. ed.)
Mark Greenough is off at Her Majesty's pleasure !

Ships helicopter probably just off to the nearest convenience
store for milk, fags and papers.
Our Scenery Manager has taken leave of absence. No, he's not been locked up despite suggestions that he should be, merely serving Queen and country and having to go off to sea - if the Navy has enough money that is .So please don't expect him to be keeping his site up to date or reply to his mail immediately. I hope he doesn't miss us all too much when he's sitting on a beach in the West Indies consuming the local rum. A haaaarrr, 'tis a man's life I tell Eee....haaarrr....
James Steps Down
Our Safety Manager, James Cheetham has come to
the difficult decision of relinquishing his position in order to
concentrate on other UK Direct involvement. Namely his Online and
Fleet support work. In a letter to all of the managers James
hopes that the position will soon be filled by someone who is
keen to take an active part in the running of our v.a.
On behalf of all I would like to thank James for his past efforts
and look forward to his future efforts.
UK Executive - New Flights
Some new flights for UKE have been posted and are
available at the UKE site.
A famous archeologist needs a ride as does a marine engineer.
The one involving a certain Mr Smith going on a jolly with
someone called Anossis sounds very interesting. In real life
however Mr Smith would be on Ryanair (with Tony Blair). Still I
can dream!!!
First Glimpse - well almost..

The FS2k 747-400 over New York heading for England and UK Direct.
Dave Finney has sent in this piccy of the 747-400 being flown over to London Gatwick. Look out for more news on this aircraft soon.
News for the prop fraternity
As a subscriber to the free flight sim newsletters I was very interested to see that SATA Virtual are working on a FS2k model of the ATP including a much needed panel. As there were threats of copy right issues plastered at various points around the site I thought I'd just include the URL for you to go and see for yourselves ! I must say the pictures look good .Visit them at : http://www.satavirtual.org/bae-atp/indexi.html
And finally.......Ooops!.........

One of our pilots took the wrong 1-11 off to the Caribbean. He is blaming the bloke on gate security at EGHH for giving him the keys. I wonder if he got it back before anyone noticed ? Don't worry Pilot XXX your secrets are safe with me and by the way mines a nice LARGE bottle of rum !
Nice picture though ! Snigger......
And Definately finally......

There's always one isn't there Mark (Greenough)....nuff said really.
